Kai Ohashi, AAMS®
I entered the financial planning industry because I am passionate about helping people. My personal goals are achieved when my clients reach their ultimate goals. I believe it’s important to invest my time in understanding what you are working towards before you invest your money. We also work closely with your CPA, attorney and other professionals to determine the most appropriate financial strategy for you and your loved ones.
My diverse background rooted here in the islands is one of my strengths as I seek to understand where my clients are coming from. I was born in Shizuoka, Japan, and was raised in Pupukea on the North Shore of Oahu. I speak fluent Japanese and am a proud graduate of Kahuku High School.
EXPERIENCE
Prior to becoming a partner at Mission Financial group, I was a financial advisor and branch leader at Edward Jones for the past 10 years. Prior to that, I worked as a client relations manager for ING DIRECT/Capital One for four years.
EDUCATION
I attended the University of Hawaii Schidler College of Business, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in international business and marketing. I received the AAMS™ professional designation in 2016 to better assist my clients.
PERSONAL
Outside of my professional pursuits, I enjoy spending quality time with my wife (Larissa), and our new daughter Rumi. I enjoy spending time in the water surfing, traveling the world with my family, spending time with our Corgi and getting in some rounds of golf.
In the community, I am extremely proud of my involvement with the Alzheimer's Association Aloha Chapter, both as an Advisory Board Member and volunteer chair for their biggest fundraiser, "The Walk to End Alzheimer's." My grandmother suffers from Dementia, and I understand the impact that the disease has on both the person suffering from the disease and the family members who take on the role of caretaker.
